The origin
How this started.
I've never had a real job in my life. Started hustling at 12 — mowing lawns, selling stuff online, anything that moved money. So when my wife's nephew Ethan told me he wanted a $1,200 basketball hoop, I wasn't going to tell him to wait for Christmas.
I sat down with Ethan and we did the math. “If you charge $20 a month and you get 12 customers — that's $240 a month. Five months and you own the hoop.” He stared at me like I'd just told him how to print money. That was the moment.
We designed a flyer. We mapped the neighborhood. I scripted his door-knock. He dropped flyers on a Saturday and knocked doors that Sunday. Three weeks later he had 12 paying customers.
Watching him run it, I realized: every step I taught Ethan is the software. The playbook, the route, the goal engine, the customer list — it should all exist in an app so any kid can do what Ethan did, without needing an uncle who happened to be an entrepreneur.
Sister-in-law texted: ‘he's a different kid.’
— Kaspar, Ethan's uncle · Arlington Heights IL
The unfair advantage
Your kid's goal is their best salesperson.
Every customer sees the progress bar. Every payment moves it. Nobody cancels on a kid who's 80% of the way to his goal. Grandmas tip more when the bar slows. Neighbors text other neighbors.
No other kid business has this mechanic.
Built for the long haul
One goal, then the next. All the way to college.
Once Ethan hits the hoop, he picks the guitar. Then the iPhone. Customers stay subscribed because they want to see what comes next.

Real money lessons
A ledger, not a bank. Your kid learns to budget.
The suggested split. Your kid can follow it, customize it, or override it.
- —Log every payment — Venmo, cash, Zelle, or tip
- —See income and expenses month-by-month
- —Parent dashboard shows the full ledger at a glance
Bin Boss never touches your family's money.
We're a tracker and coach, not a bank. Customers pay your kid directly — Venmo, Zelle, cash, whatever your family uses. Your kid logs it in the app. We track, suggest, and coach. Nothing flows through us.

What's in the box
Everything your kid needs to launch.
Your kid's cell number stays off the flyers.
Flyers show a QR code and a unique invite code like ETHAN-CH-12. Neighbors scan, enter the code, and connect to your kid's Bin Boss — with zero personal contact info on paper in the neighborhood.
Parent questions
The things every parent asks us first.
No filler, no legalese. If your question isn't here, email us.
Is my kid actually safe knocking on neighbor doors?
You walk the route with them the first time and anytime you want after. Flyers never print your kid's phone — every neighbor connects through a QR code and an invite like ETHAN-CH-12. No personal contact info leaves your house on paper.
How much time will this take me as a parent?
About an hour to launch (print flyers, pick the route, set the goal) and a few minutes a week after that. The app runs the route; the playbook runs the launch. You're the proud parent, not the ops lead.
What if my kid quits after two weeks?
That's the most common question we get. The goal engine is the answer — nobody quits when they're 30% of the way to a hoop they picked themselves. And if they do, customers unsubscribe automatically. No ugly wind-down.
Who's liable if something happens on a customer's property?
You are — you're the legal business owner. Bin Boss is a software and education platform, not a service company. We coach your kid through safe routes, daylight hours, and low-risk tasks (rolling a bin 20 feet curb-side isn't ladder work).
How does money actually move?
Customer pays your kid directly — Venmo, Zelle, cash, whatever you prefer. Your kid logs the payment in the app. Bin Boss never touches your family's money. We track the ledger, suggest the 60/20/20 split, and coach. That's it.
What happens when winter hits or it rains?
Most neighborhoods still pick up trash year-round. The app handles pauses for weather, vacation, or illness with one tap. Customers see why the route is paused and stay subscribed because they're rooting for the goal.
Why is this $29/month after launch?
A typical route earns $240+/month in its first season. The app, coaching, custom flyer, playbook, and store access cost us real money to build and keep current. The founding 10 get it free for life because you're helping us prove it works.
Open your Bin Boss free.
